  • This barb was located at the Tegana formation of the kem kem beds. Measurements approx- 35mm x 15mm at the widest points.

Onchopristis is a genus of extinct giant sclerorhynchoid from the Lower Cretaceous to Upper Cretaceous (145-66 mya) of North America, North Africa, Brazil, and New Zealand. It had an elongated snout lined laterally with barbed "teeth", or denticles. Onchopristis was similar looking to the modern day sword fish with a touch of sting ray. Onchopristis could grow to lengths of 5-6 Mtrs with the rostrum being 1-2mtrs. Because of the location of this species it is very likely that Onchopristis would have been included in the staple diet of Spinosaurus

Type- Carnivore/Hunter 

Size- 8 metres long

Predators- Elosuchus, Spinosaurus, larger marine predators.
