Pterosaurs lived during the age of the Dinosaurs and are simply put, flying reptiles. Although not technically classed as a Dinosaur because of features such as flying and how the joints in the arms rotate from the sides, pterosaurs are indeed distant relatives to the Dinosaurs and most probably one of the most well known species from the Cretaceous alongside the Tyrannosaurs and Raptors. This claw is a unique find, it has superb preservation and little wear and a huge size at almost 1.5 inches. The blood grooves on either side are symmetrical and very detailed. The exact genus to which Pterosaur this claw belonged is a little tricky, but going by the area where it was found and its size we can assume a high possibility it belonged to one of two families; Anhangueridae or Azharchidae.
